Peppermint Feet Soak

I’ve been feeling a little bit slow and stressed out lately, then I came across a recipe for a foot soak at soap queen.com  that promised a lot of goodness and since I have never tried one before, I decided to take the recipe, tweaked it just a little bit, make the soak and then some more.

The original recipe

Baking Soda (1 cup)

Citric Acid  (1/2 cup)

Extra Fine Epsom Salt (1/4 cup)

Chia Seed oil (1 tbsp)

Peppermint Essential Oil ( 3 ml)

My Version

Baking Soda (1 cup)

Citric Acid (1/2 cup)

Epsom Salt (1/4 cup)

Pink Himalayan Salt

Shea Oil (1 tbsp)

Peppermint Essential Oil (3 ml) : Peppermint essential  oil is very refreshing and a stress relieving oil. It is also a stimulating oil

HOW TO

I lined my mold with pink Himalayan salt, added all my dry ingredients together and I used my hands to break up all the lumps or you could just run it through a sieve.

I added my liquid ingredients mixed it all together, knowing when to pack in a mold is always the tricky part, however the original recipe says 5 to 6 spray of witch hazel should be enough and it was. So I just sprayed with witch hazel and squeezed in my hands to check if the shape holds and it did after the 6th spray.

I proceed to pack it in my mold and left it for a whole day before unmolding. I also made more by using food colouring and a different mold and I made more!( I know) but this is a scoopable one I left out the witch hazel and added  dried petals roses and lavender buds.

TO USE

Add your foot soak in a bowl of hot water( not too hot to burn please) let it dissolve, gentle place and your feet in and relax for 15 to 20 minutes or when the water starts getting cold. Put your feet on a dry towel and apply  your moisturizer (I use raw shea butter). I find that its best to do it at night so that you can pop into bed immediately. I have to say this foot soak did what it promised, I felt relaxed and the smell of peppermint is so refreshing, also I felt a bit of energy surge.

WHY YOU SHOULD TRY THIS

Peppermint Essential Oil is very relaxing, stimulating and refreshing. it  is antibacterial and antiviral and also reliefs stress.

Himalayan Pink Salt is detoxifying  and helps in balancing the PH of the body. It helps with muscle cramps and contains about 84 essential minerals.

Citric Acid is a water soften and a natural preservative.

Epsom Salt helps detoxifying the body by drawing all the nasty toxins relieving aches and pains.
