Over the years and through life events like weight gain and loss, child birth and more weight gain. Some body parts have bridged, some have taken a plop… just a little and beautiful folds have formed along the way. This body powder is like a love letter to the body I have now as a form of self-care, love and appreciation.
So this is for the thick thighs.
And the under saggy boobs.
The stretched, plopped belly.
And all the love handle.
This is Romanticizing the mundane remember, Toni Morrison emphasised that; “YOU ARE YOUR BEST THING’‘. The vessel needs to be cared for.
This powder recipe is flower powered. It’s a personal rendition of an anti chafing powder to keep the inner thighs from itching and sweating while rubbing and the under boobs from sweats and rashes. And allow the low hanging belly to keep nice and fresh. A blend of natural flower powders to prevent skin irritation or soothe already existing ones leaving you feeling silky dry. It is a combination of arrowroot powder, rose powder, kaolin clay, calendula powder, and colloidal oat powder and lavender powder.

Lavender Powder: lavender powder is made by grinding the dried flowers of lavender plant. Its smells refreshing and can be extremely calming.
THE RECIPE
Arrowroot Powder : 1/2 cup
Kaolin Clay : 1/2 cup
Rose Flower Powder : 1 tbsp
Calendula powder : 1 tbsp
Lavender Powder : 1 tbsp
Colloidal Oats Powder : 1/4 cup
Rose Geranium : 12 drops (optional)

THE METHOD
Measure out all the ingredients as listed above, mix well and pour into a suitable container.
Container could be a jar, an old dusting powder bottle or even a loose powder jar.
You may run this through a very dry, sanitised blender after adding the essential oil, or through a sieve (I did this and made a bit of mess) and no clumps was formed, you can skip the essential oil or do a patch test for sensitivity if you are inclined to add it. The rose geranium essential oil amplified the aroma of the rose powder.
Use your flower body powder everyday after moisturising the skin. Dust it in-between the thighs, under the boobs and belly. And dust it all over your skin just before bed.

This is a silky, indulgence and an act of self care.

That is it, that is all.
Easy and simple body powder you can make in the comfort of your own home.
