TL RECOMMENDS: JEWELLERY MUST HAVE

I was looking for a pair of stud earrings that I got a while back at a jewellery show, it is a beautiful pearl studs and I wanted to wear it because I was just going out to run some errands and I thought hmmm……. this is actually a basic thing to have in a wardrobe as in something (Jewellery) you can just pop on and go regardless if it is a pearl or not and that is basically what inspired this blog post. I love jewellery, love looking at them and buying them. Over the years I have been able to collect a few really good ones and not so good ones as well, also been able to make my own jewellery has been way to indulge myself, because it gives me the freedom to see something I like and just buy the materials to make it which works out cheaper most of the time but definitely not always. I don’t  however have a pile of jewels on, I tend to just keep it …

Diy Freshwater Pearl Bracelet

This is a simple step by step on how to make a 3 strand pearl bracelet with a beautiful spacer brooch. You will need: Freshwater pearls or any kind of pearls you like. A three strand jewellery spacer, this is a personal choice you can do this without the crystal spacer. Three stand clasp Wire: For stringing the beads. Crimp Beads: For securing the ends of the wire. Pliers: For pressing the crimps to help secure the wire. Cutter: For cutting off all the excess wires. How to: Lay out all your beads, clasp and spacer/brooch on your bead board just as you would like it to be, this is very good not only for visual purposes but to know if the design will work and locate where you want to attach your findings. Measure the size of your wrist and cut the thread or beading wire of your choice but make sure you have  excess wire, it is better to have more and just cut off the excess than having less wire to work …

Styling Long Necklaces

I posted a blog recently about long necklaces and making your own with a pendant or brooch, needless to say that blog lead to this. I love the ease that comes with wearing a long necklace, it can be dressed up or down. Amanda Seyfried’s look to the 2013 SAG awards was amazing, she looked young and fresh with the long necklace and I love the way stylepantry wore hers with a causal sweater, really cool. I also did some styling on polyvore with more of my handmade long necklaces so enjoy and let me know what you think. Thank you! http://stylepantry.com/2014/10/21/diy-off-shoulder-sweater-leather-pants/ http://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-style/pictures/sag-awards-2013-red-carpet-dresses-2013271/27881

Long Necklaces

I have collected some pendants and brooches(vintage and new) over the years and recently I’ve been thinking of ways to put them to use. Then I watched some YouTube videos on ‘how to use metal hole punch pliers’ and that gave me the perfect solution to my brooches and pendants issues.   This was a brooch that I punched with a jewellery punch  and added the chain with a jump ring, I then added some fresh water pearls. This is one of my favorites of all time, I got this citrine quartz arrow-head from this shop: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/jewelersparadise?section_id=10031707&ref=shopsection_leftnav_1. It is electroplate edged with 24k gold. I LOVE THIS!! so much. And it’s so easy to make into necklace, get your choice of chain/links  and attach to it. Then attach a clasp with a jump ring on one end and another on the other end to catch the lobster clasp.   I got this deer antler focal pendant from this shop https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/LylaSupplies?section_id=12028368&ref=shopsection_leftnav_1. It is 22k gold-plated on brass really unusual and unique. I split open two jump rings …
