I think diy lip gloss with a base mix is all the rage now. Almost everyone is making and selling it and I’m here for all of it! and wanting to make it as well.
However instead of buying the base and just mixing it with some colours, let’s make an all-natural, vegan-friendly lip gloss with just 4 Ingredients, yes! 4 Ingredients. The star of this show is an Ingredient that is new to me: Viamerine Wh36, let’s get familiar with this gift that keeps giving.
VIAMERINE WH36 is a 100% vegetable-derived mix of Polyglycerides.
It is a vegan alternative to lanolin, making it perfect for cruelty-free and plant-based beauty products. it has hydrating and anti-wrinkle properties and is extremely beneficial to dehydrated and damaged skin.
Helps protect lips from dryness and environmental stressors.

We are going to add another thick carrier oil: Castor Oil a yellowish, viscous conditioning oil that can be used on its own as a base for a conditioning lip oil or even lip gloss. Our third Ingredient is Olive Squalane Oil, a plant-derived penetrating oil that makes an excellent hydrating oil and protects the skin from moisture loss. Vitamin E a natural skin healer that helps improve the appearance of scars and also enhances skin moisture retention is the last Ingredient. Now let’s proceed, this recipe is for 100 grams of lip gloss.
The Recipe
Phase 1 :
60% Viamerine Wh36 60 grams
29% Castor Oil 29 grams
Phase 2 :
10% Olive Squalane 10 grams
1% Vitamin E 1 gram
The Method
- Sterilize/Clean all measuring and scooping equipment.
- Measure out the phase 1 ingredients in a heat save jar, that is the viamerine Wh36 and castor oil.

It must be noted that viamerine Wh36 is notoriously sticky…as in gloopy! and this can be a bit of a mess and waste may occur so be careful.
- Prepare a double boiler and place the measured Ingredients to heat up until it becomes translucent: 50C to be precise. At this point the Viamerine Wh36 has melted down is liquid, mix well with a spatula to combine the castor oil.

- Take out the melted Ingredients and allow to cool below 40C.
- Add the phase 2 Ingredients and mix well.

- Pour into a suitable lip gloss container.

I got a lip gloss pack with the syringe online hence the decanting was easy.

Creating your own lip gloss at home is a fun and rewarding way to ensure you’re using clean, cruelty-free, and skin-loving ingredients. Viamerine WH36 makes this formula incredibly moisturizing, giving your lips a soft and glossy finish without the stickiness of traditional lip glosses.
