Rhassoul Rose Cleansing Facial Mask

I purchased a book  on amazon kindle by Carla Oates ‘feeding your skin’, and according to the book, it is believed that the first mask was invented by slave girls in Egypt who were washing their clothes at the Nile’s edge. They realised that their feet became soft and pappy after immersion in the mud, and so decided to apply it on their face and hands. since then , masks have evolved to include a plethora of ingredients that draws out dirt, oil, and impurities from the skin. I use either a clay/mud mask OR  dried fruit powder and honey or hydrosol/distilled water once a week OR every other week. My skin is dry to combination and kinda of sensitive….yeah I know. Anyway, I love how clean and smooth it makes my skin feels and apparently products tend to work better after a deep cleanse your face/skin gets from using a mask. This blend combines rhassoul clay known for its rich and naturally occurring minerals and improves the texture of the skin whilst it cleanses, honey powder …

Favourites + Effective Natural Plant Oils For Hair And Skin

Carrier Oils/Base Oils are natural plant/fruits oils, pressed from the leaves or seed of such plant. Usually, plant oils do not have any strong concentrated aroma unlike essential oil, however some type of oils like neem oil, marula oil, olives etc, have distinctive smell, also carrier oils are not prone to evaporation because they are less volatile unlike essential oil. The best plant oil is unrefined, cold pressed, and organic. That been said I don’t always buy the organic oils, as long as its pure and unrefined, I’m good. Carrier oils are important for health and beauty. They not only help the skin absorb essential oils better, they moisturise and protect the skin from damage caused by external environmental factors. Using natural oil is a really fast way to get antioxidants, essential fatty acids and vitamins on your skin tropically and I’m obsessed with them it’s not even funny, I’m always mixing/blending with essential oils to use for my skin, hair and face. These oils are just a few new ones I’ve just started using and not so new …

Tingling Scalp Treatment Oil

One of the best thing about mixing and blending your own oils/butters is that you know exactly what is going in, you are able to play around with recipes and measurements and also trying out new oils/butters. It is just so much fun learning and reading about natural oils/butters. I recently came across this recipe online at http://www.naturalbeautyworkshop.com while I was looking for the best oils for dry, itchy and scaly scalp. I had been dealing with a really terrible scalp issue as in itching and stuff, infact my scalp was getting a little tender because I could not keep my fingers out of my hair. I needed and wanted something intense that I can feel on my scalp (Tingling) and this blend did exactly that. The original recipe used Arnica CO2 extract and babassu oil, since I did not have the two, I replace the arnica with rosemary essential oil and the babassu with coconut oil. THE ORIGINAL RECIPE Coconut Oil 60ml Babassu Oil 45ml Argan Oil 15ml Black Jamaican Castor Oil 7.5ml Anica CO2 …

The Oil Cleansing Method

Oil cleansing as the name implies means cleansing your face with oil, yes OIL!. I have known of oil cleansing method for a while and I even tried it once or twice before but went back to my ‘normal’ cleanser. However, my skin’s sensitivity to alcohol had me seeking alternative ways to cleanse my skin without the over drying and itchy, which lead me back to oil cleansing and honey cleansing(honey cleansing will be another blog post). THE METHOD Basically, What you do is take a natural oil or blends of oil like almond oil, castor oil, safflower oil, sunflower oil etc. massage it in on your face in a gently and circular motion for a few seconds and take a soft cloth or muslin face towel, put it in a warm but not hot water and wipe away the oil. Do this two to three times and use a toner after, for any excess oil. your skin will be left feeling fresh and moisturised. According to ‘theoilcleansingmethod.com’, the skin naturally lubricates itself with oil …

Blending And Benefit Of Using Facial Oils

Facial oils are natural light plant oils , with little or no fragrance. It can be one specific type of oil or a blend of more oils depending on personal choice. Because it is just oil and no water, preservative is not needed however essential oils like Lavender, tea tree, juniper berry, geranium, etc, could be added for more skin benefits and added active ingredients. Although a lot of people are skeptical about the use of oils on their face for the fear clogging the pores, this is not so because natural oils contains powerful antioxidants and vitamins that will benefit the skin rather than clog it. One of the best ways to get vitamins and antioxidants directly on the skin for a boost is through the application of natural plant oils. The fatty acids in natural oils are very important for replenishing and hydrating the skin. However before the use of any oil or essential oils doing a patch test (patch test is rubbing the oil in a small part of the skin over …
